Fall is finally here! Who else is excited? Autumn is definitely my favorite season and I thought I would share with you why.
So, if you are interested why I love this glorious (and chilly) season just keep reading!
I’ll start off with a common one: the changing of the leaves. The beautiful colors exploding across the trees always take my breath away. I love how one day the trees will have only a few golden or orange leaves and the next are completely covered in firey beauty.
Not only do I love the colors of the leaves, I also enjoy their smell. Maybe it’s simply because it reminds me of fall, but there is something about the aroma of fallen leaves that I love.
The weather, isn’t it great? Just me?
Anyway, I really enjoy chilly weather. I love to wear long sleeves, tights, sweaters (or cardigans) and scarves, so the autumn weather is perfect for me! My cold nose and the crisp air entering my lungs fill me with a sense of calm. I like being cozy, and fall weather is great at doing just that!
Since it’s chilly out, it’s a perfect opportunity for another one of my favorite things. Those of you who have been following Scribe’s Canvas for a while will probably know what it is. I’ll give you a chance to guess.
Alright, do you have your guess? Good, let’s see if you’re right.
Did you guess tea? If so, you got it! I’m a huge fan of tea. I drink a lot of tea all year, but when fall comes around I seem to constantly have a mug of tea next to me. A hot cup of tea is like a hug from a familar friend.
I also love the sense of change that is brought in by fall. It’s a time to start over, to have a fresh start, to start something new. It’s a time of possibilities. I enjoy starting new projects and lifestyle changes at the beginning of fall. I’m sure it has to do with things calming down, with the start of school and the end of summer.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love taking an entire day to think about and be grateful for all that we have. I know that it’s only a day and I wish we would do it all year long, but Thanksgiving is a nice reminder to be thankful for what all that we have.
Finally, the fall flavors are wonderful. Crisp, juicy apples, sweet apple pie and rich pumpkin pie are some of my favorites. I love the time of year where these flavors come in ample supply. Ever since I was little, I’ve also been a fan of hot apple cider. My mom always makes it around Halloween, and it reminds me of fond childhood memeories.
There are many other little things that come to mind when I think about fall, but I’ll stop here with the big ones. As you can probably tell, I’m very happy that autumn has arrived!
I can’t wait for weather, the sweaters, the leaves and the teas!
Happy Fall!
Let me know what your favorite season is and why in the comments, I love hearing from you!
And be sure to wear that beautiful sweater that you knit! I love all of the things that you mentioned but, also, find myself a bit wistful about leaving the growing season behind.
I’m sure 🙂
Great post! Being cozy is one of my favorite things about fall too!
Thank you! Being cozy is great! I’m happy to meat another lover of fall!
Fall and Spring I appreciate: transition, tumult. Summer and Winter are monochrome.
Well said!
I fall in fall, just don’t get it but don’t mind the wrapped up walks.. But ‘it is what it is, and if it was, it wouldn’t be.’
