The Liebster Award

I would like to thank the absolutely wonderful Tumbling Words for nominating me for this amazing award! I feel very honored to have received this and that Tumbling Words thought of me!

Here are my answers to the questions that Tumbling Words asked me:

  1. Who is my favorite book character and why?

My favorite book character is probably J. K. Rowling’s  Hermione. I love that she is not the stereotypical female character. When I was little she reminded me that it was okay and even great to be smart and confident in my abilities. She reminded me again and again that it is important to have friends even when it’s hard to do. She reminded me that you don’t have to be the center of attention to be important and valued. She also reminds me to fight for what I believe in. I will always carry these lessons with me, and I am grateful that Hermione (and J. K. Rowling) has taught me all these important lessons. For these reasons (and a few more), she is my favorite book character.

2. Are you a “cup half full” or a “cup half empty” person?

I would say that I am generally a “cup half full” person.

3. Who scares you more, Trump of Clinton?

4. What is your favorite comfort food?

I enjoy toast, and/or any kind of fruit.

5. Which piece of music lifts your spirits?

It changes all the time, but currently, I would say “Happy” by Pharrell Willams and “Dog Days Are Over” by Florence + the Machine.

6. What is your middle name?

My middle name is Rae.

7. What is your favorite quote?

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – Bernard Baurch

8. Do you believe there is something after death?

I frequently go back and forth on this matter, and can’t seem to make up my mind.

9. Which period in history would you most like to live in?

I would love to live in the times of Merlin and Arthur, but I’m not sure I would stay there for long. I would just love to explore and experience that world.

If I had to choose on in which to stay (that is not this one), I would probably choose the Jazz Era of the early 1900s or the second half of the 1800s.

10. Who/what do you love most in your life?

My family is what I love most.

11. What makes you cry and why?

When I think about the inequality and suffering in the world. It pains me to know that there are people who are fighting every day just to survive. I don’t understand why humans would hurt each other for any reason and it saddens me when we do so.
