Hi everyone!
I thought it would be fun to share my set up for August. I’ve been bulleting journaling for a little over 2 years now (here’s a post about my first month of using this system) and during that time my style has changed quite a bit. Recently, I’ve started adding more doodles to my monthly pages and have been enjoying it a lot.
The “one line a day” spread has been one that I keep using month after month. I love looking back at these spreads and seeing what I was up to/thinking. I’ve also started using a budget spread. I’ve found that while I track my spending with an app, I tend to be more accountable when I have to physically write down how much I’ve spent at the end of the month.
I’ve also started separating out my habit trackers. I used to use one big chart (here’s May’s plan with me as an example), but I’d been doing that for over a year and am ready for something new. During July I’ve used these separated trackers and have been loving it. I like being able to see how I’m doing with each habit individually instead of an entire day at a glance. I’m also finding it easier to see trends on which days I’m successful with certain habits.
I’ve also started tracking my mood again. There’s been an off-again-on-again relationship between myself and mood trackers. I love the idea but always found it hard to pinpoint the mood I thought encompassed the day. A couple of months ago I discovered Amanda Rach Lee and was inspired to try something new with the mood tracker. Mainly, using a scale instead of specific moods.
Finally, I also drew out a weekly spread for next week. It’s hard to believe that next week is the first week of August! I feel like July just started. I meant to write the week’s dates on the left-hand page, but forgot and, because I’d been writing August on all the other spreads, I ended up writing it here too. I ended up adding the dates of the week along the side, and am happy enough with the fix. During the school year, I use both small weekly and dailies, but for the summer when I have less going on, I’ve found that large weeklies work great. This weekly spread was inspired by PenPaperSoul.
And just like that, I’m all set up for August. I still need to go through and add in dates, work, appointments, etc., but that can wait until August is a bit closer. I love sharing my bullet journal/planning process with you. Let me know down in the comments if there are any other bullet journal or planning related posts you’d like to see!
As always, thank for you stopping by Scribe’s Canvas!
Until next time,
Acire
