I’m excited to share with you something I’ve been thinking about and working on for a little while now. To celebrate this blog’s third year of existence, I want to do something special. However, I didn’t want it to be about this blog or me. I want to do something that gave back to this community I’ve become a part of.
I have experienced a lot of support and kindness from all of you who stop by Scribe’s Canvas. I want to spread that support and kindness to others. The internet, and the world, can be pretty negative. However, when we treat others with kindness, we take a step in the right direction. A little bit of kindness can make a huge difference. Just as negativity spreads negativity, kindness spreads kindness.
So, I’ve decided to create a blogging award. My intention behind it is to spread kindness to others and to build a supportive community.
So, without further ado here are the details of the Amity Award:
-
Premise: To recognize those bloggers who promote kindness and support, as well as to acknowledge those who you feel deserve to be recognized for their positive contribution to the blogging community.
-
It could be anything you feel fits this idea. For example kind comments, showing support to others, bringing art and/or beauty into the world, sharing personal experiences that you have found helpful, a place where you enjoying going to have a rest-bit from daily life, etc.
-
-

-
Include the Premise statement and Guidelines of the award.

-
Write a bit about what you appreciate about the blogging community and/or a way that you like to spread kindness in the blogging community.
-
Nominate 2 or more fellow bloggers who you feel deserve to be recognized.
-
I would like to start off this award by answering the questions and nominating a few fellow bloggers.
Why did I start this blog? I started Scribe’s Canvas as a way to share my writing with the world, and as a way to give readers a rest-bit from daily life. I felt (and still do) that it is important to share our art and creativity with the world, and I also used it as a way to work through fears I had. I hope to continue to write here at Scribe’s Canvas as a way to possibly give someone a story, scene or poem that they can connect to and that means something to them, no matter how small.
What’s something that I appreciate about the blogging community? I greatly appreciate the support and companionship I feel from other bloggers and readers. I also love that blogging is a way to share our art, creativity, and thoughts with the world. I find that even though there are probably millions of us out there who blog, we can all find a part of it in which we feel we belong.
How do I like to spread kindness in the blogging community? I try my best to respond to almost all comments on my posts as well as try to acknowledge the readers of this blog and thank them for their support. They are an important part of Scribe’s Canvas. I also try to find new blogs to read and support, because I know that when I was starting my blog three years ago I greatly appreciated all the support I got from fellow bloggers.
I would like to nominate the following blogs for the Amity Award:
Simon from Planet Simon — He has supported Scribe’s Canvas almost from the beginning and I greatly appreciate him and love his work.
Mackenzie from Life with an Illness — I recently discovered her blog and love that she sharing her experience with others, as well as spreading positivity.
Erika from Erika Kind — I discovered her blog shortly after starting my own. She spreads kindness with every post and I personally love her Daily Kind Quotes.
Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who has supported this blog over the past three years, whether you’re new or been here since the beginning. Your support and kindness mean the world to me. Thank you!
I love this idea! Where did you get the inspiration behind Amity, the title of the award?
Thank you so much! I found it while looking for words that were similar to community, kindness and friendship
Congratulations on the award, Acire. I love your reasons why you started blogging and I agree. Sharing ourselves inspires and makes the world so much more colorful. Thank you also for passing the award over to me. I appreciate it.
