It was one of my summer goals to get back into reading. I always feel better when I take the time to read, and I made it a goal to read 6 books over the summer, and I succeeded! Yay!
I’m even more excited that I’ve kept on reading (just like I hoped I would). For the past two months, I’ve had two books going at a time. I have one that I only listen to when I’m running and another I read whenever. I find that having a special running book encourages me to run.
Anyway, back to the topic of this post. I’ve read quite a few books in October. So, what did I read?
My October books:
“Mr. Penumbra’s 24-hour Bookstore” by Robin Sloan
This was one of my running books this month. I loved it! It was super fun and very intriguing. I was sucked into the story right away and was always a little bummed when my runs ended because I wanted to keep listening. This is a great book for anyone who loves secret societies and well-written humor.
“Outlander” by Diana Gabaldon
I’ve been working on this book all month and love it! I’ve had trouble putting it down and find that I take it out to read when I have a spare moment. There have been a number of nights where I’ve stayed up into the early hours of the morning reading. This book sees a woman thrust into an unlikely romance in 18th century Scotland.
“Legend” by Maire Lu
This is my second running book for the month. It’s been on my reading list for a while and I’m glad I’ve kept it on the list for so long. This is a fast paced book set in a dystopian future. There is intrigue, adventure and of course good old YA action. This is a great book and I think it would be a great read for lovers of “Divergent”, “Uglies” and the “Hunger Games”.
I read quite a few books in October and I can’t wait to start tackling the next ones! I’m so happy that I’m reading again. I love being whisked away on adventures.
Let me know in the comments what books you love and what you’ve read lately! I love hearing from you!
Until next time,

books while running that’s a great idea.
It helps a lot!
