Hello, everyone!
I’ve been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award. I would like to thank the wonderful Robin over at Robinbeeblog for thinking of me!
I’m passing this award on to all of you! You’re the ones who make this blog what it is. Without your continued support Scribe’s Canvas wouldn’t be what it is. I would like to thank everyone who stops by this little blog for your continued support and interest in my writing! You’re truly the best!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Here are the Rules: Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post to show your award.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
- Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
How I got Started:
I started Scribe’s Canvas as a way to get over the fear I had of sharing my writing with people. Before Scribe’s Canvas, I was caught in the trap of being fearful of rejection (to my writing) and being frustrated that no one was asking about my writing. It was an endless loop that only left me feeling frustrated.
Someone very close to me suggested that it would be a good idea to find some way to share my writing it didn’t really matter how. I decided that I wanted to start a blog. It could be a place to share my work and it could be anonymous if I wanted it to be.
The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do it. I know that for me, reading and writing is a way to take a break from the day. It is a way to take a rest bit and clear my mind. I decided that that’s what I wanted Scribe’s Canvas to be. A place to take a break from the day, a rest-bit from daily life.
Since I started over a year and a half ago, I’ve fallen in love with blogging. I’m grateful every day that I got the push I needed to get out there and just start sharing. If I hadn’t I wouldn’t have found this absolutely wonderful community of bloggers!
Thank you for all the support and inspiration!
Advice to new bloggers:
- Don’t worry about what others think, just write about what you love. You might feel lonely at first, but over time you will begin to find those who share the same interests and they will find you. Just keep going! Do what you love!
- Plan ahead! Sometimes it’s hard to know what to write about. I’ve found that if I sit down and plan out posts for the upcoming few weeks or month, I can eliminate the stress around finding a topic the night before the post is due to go up. And since it’s your plan, you can always change it! Make it work for you, but planning ahead will make it easier to stay on top of things and will make blogging more enjoyable.
