As we prepare to leave 2015 behind I thought I would join the masses and reflect upon my year.
This past year has been a big one. My first year of college had its ups and downs. While on average it wasn’t the best year of school, by June I had learned a lot about myself and have a better idea of what I want out of life.
Over the summer I started Scribe’s Canvas and instantly fell in love with blogging. I find it is an easy way for me to share my thoughts with the world. I enjoy having the ability to give readers a little rest-bit from their daily life. As this blog reaches the half year mark of its existence, I am beginning to have a clearer idea of what exactly I’d like Scribe’s Canvas to be about. Though I suppose it will also contain a little bit of everything in some form or another.
The biggest thing that has happened to me this year was my move across the pond. I have been living in the United Kingdom for three months now. I have loved every second of it and hope to continue to do so for the remainder of my stay. As of today it has been 100 days since I left home. In a way it seems like it has been forever since I slept in my own bed, but at the same time it feels as if no time has passed. It’s as if I’m in a time vortex where time itself is fluid and can’t quite decide how fast it wants to go. I have enjoyed my time traveling, studying, making new friends and learning every word that is American and not English (and there are quite a lot of them; my favorite being ‘bobble’ which is what I call a ‘hair tie’ back home).
In short, 2015 has been a big year. One filled with highs and lows. One where my diligence and patience have been tested again and again. It was a year filled with life changes and adventures.
2015 was a hell of a year.
I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store.
I think you’ve done a fantastic job, Erica. Best wishes for 2016.
Thank you, and to you as well
Your entry gave me a huge smile and a tear of joy – you will be in my heart and prayers in 2016!
Thank you
