Hello everyone!
How is it July already? What happened to June? No, scratch that, what happened to the first half of the year? Somehow I blinked and we’ve already passed the longest day of the year.
I hope all of you lovely readers are having a great summer (or winter) so far. Mine has been good so far and very full.
Before we get into what’s coming up in July, I want to share a few highlights from June.
> I finished my 4th year of college and only have one year left! I love school, but it’s nice to know that one year from now I’ll be done with exams for the foreseeable future (or at least until I decide to go back and get a masters…).
> I finished reading the book Swing Time by Zadie Smith and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s been on my reading list for a while now and I finally got around to reading it. It’s one of those stories that’s going to stick with me. It deals with race, culture, societal inequalities and so much more. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a book that will get you thinking while also having a good story.
> I got my blog organized! It’s been all behind the scenes, so I’m pretty sure I’m the only one who can tell a difference. It feels so good to be on top of things (at least for the time being). I finally set up a multi-month editorial calendar which I’ve never done before. I’ve always had a bit of a hard time staying on top of Scribe’s Canvas because I only planned a single month of blog posts at a time. Now though, I’ve planned (in pencil) through the rest of the year and have a general idea of what posts I want to write. I’m hoping that this will help me stay on top of things and maybe finally get a little ahead!
Now onto July…
July is an exciting one for me, just as it is every year because it’s this blog’s birthday! I started Scribe’s Canvas 3 years ago and during that time, this blog has grown into something I never imagined it could be and has become an important part of my life. I recently went back and reread the first post I never posted and I felt a swarm of emotions. It was fun seeing how far this blog has come. Here’s a link to it if you feel like checking it out too:
I want to thank each and every one of you lovely readers for all your support. I hope that as this fourth year of Scribe’s Canvas starts that we can continue to grow into a community that spreads kindness.
On that note, I have an exciting surprise that will be announced in a post next week that involves this idea. I don’t want to say too much and give it away, but I will tell you that I’ve been thinking about/working on this for a while and am excited that soon I’ll be able to share it with you!
Also, this Friday I’ll be posting a Q&A (here’s the post announcing it), so make sure to write any questions you have for me down in the comments below! I’ll do my best to answer them in the upcoming post.
I hope that each of you has a great month. Thank you for taking the time to stop by Scribe’s Canvas today!
Until next time,
Acire
I am excited to hear what comes next!
I can’t wait to share it with you!
I’ll be keeping an eye out for this surprise… I like surprises 🙂
It’ll be announced next week 🙂
